It makes a wonderful addition to any oldies or blues collection. This CD was a perfect compilation of Otis Redding's hits.
These items were for my dad and they arrived much sooner than expected, he has been enjoying them daily.
To this day, I have never heard an musical singer with so much "Feel" in his music. Such music garbage RnB and Soul has become, its almost laughable. What an extreme talent, and back from the glory days of RandB/Soul.
I hope this man is never forgotten, and parents will play their Otis records for their children, because lets face it, RnB is a joke today. Sorry that I went on a rant, but when you listen to music like Otis, or old Motown, you really wonder what it would be like if the music industry was more interested in selling musical talent, and not some wanna be Thug that grew up on Beverly Hills that does nothing but spit into a harmonic vocalizer.If you never have heard this legendary artist, please get this album. There was still some talent in the industry even in the mid 90's, but the 2000's have wilted to only a handful, and I mean handful of singers with talent.
Otis Redding. This is coming from someone who also enjoys music such as Death Metal, Hardcore Techno, and other extreme forms. You will be hooked on classic RnB and Soul.enjoy
This CD is a great compilation of the Legendary Singer. "My lovers Prayer" almost makes me cry with all the emotion behind it.
For my part I think this is a great album, while there are songs I would replace on this album with others, I think the powers that be have got this record pretty much right. Otis is the epitome of soul. Otis Redding has about 4 songs that are catch all songs, and they have to be included on any album but after that this artist has made so much music that it is impossible to create a greatest hits album without disappointing someone.
Every song here is great. This is a great album that is not definitive but comes as dam close as any album I have come across. You can listen to this album over and over again.
This is the type of album that is impossible to get right. It is not the definitive Redding collection, but with that said you can put this in your cd player and forget about it. I love this man.
I am sure this album will have the affect of generating as much praise as genuine outrage. In the end if you think you can buy only one album of Otis Redding and get all the music you need then I feel sorry for you.This is a great record.
However, the whole CD is great. I purchased this CD for two particular songs I love.
